Anna Miller
Anna Miller is a Providence-based artist working towards a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (2026).
Anna’s practice investigates “ecstasy” as defined by Catholic Church doctrine: a sublime state of interconnectedness; a radical release from the individual body and soul. When confronted with something so extreme and so far removed from the living human’s experience, the familiarity of embodiment is simultaneously usurped and enshrined. This tension between the fragile body and the zealous spirit is something Anna teases out through figuration, abstraction, and some watercolors.
